On this Day in History…

On January 12, 1930, the Aerial Lift Bridge was opened to motorists for the first time. Remember, however, that the Lift Bridge has previously been a transfer bridge, so the original structure dates back to 1905. However, this date marks the first day of the lift bridge as we know it today.
