We Should Buy That Property

Fifteen years ago, on the site where the SPI is located, sat a decrepit house and garage, chunks of cement and pilings dumped there from old buildings, overgrown weeds and assorted rubble. This eyesore piece of property had been for sale for nearly 20 years.

The Sola family of Park Point – Dale, Betty, Steven and Rand – said for years, “That property is zoned commercial; someone will buy it and put something there that we dislike. We will only have ourselves to blame. We should buy that property.”

The Solas finally purchased the property in 1999 and then said, ”Now what are we going to do with it?”

Over the next several months of thinking, the Solas decided to build the South Pier Inn.
